"Until recently, my work focused almost exclusively on the human face. In these paintings, subtle facial expressions were employed to suggest the complex intricacies of interior realities. In contrast, my recent work is largely nonobjective. These abstract paintings explore visual elements (line, mark, shape, texture, and color) and the expressive potential possible when these elements interact with one other. Through painting, I’ve found a “language” that can speak of the internal and transcendent. The end products are endlessly intriguing."
